Our Story
The story of Freestanding Instashade began with a simple yet profound realization. Our founders, a group of outdoor enthusiasts who loved spending time in the sun but grew frustrated with the existing shade solutions, found themselves constantly grappling with complicated, time - consuming setups. Whether it was a family picnic on the beach, a weekend camping trip, or running a small market stall, the process of getting proper shade was more of a hassle than it should be.
One memorable experience was during a family beach day in Australia. Despite lugging a large, traditional gazebo to the shore, setting it up in the soft sand took over 30 minutes, and it kept toppling in the gentle coastal breeze. The kids were impatient, and the adults were exhausted even before they could start enjoying the day. This frustration was the catalyst for change.
Drawing on their combined backgrounds in engineering, design, and a passion for the outdoors, they set out to create a revolutionary shade solution. They spent months researching materials, testing prototypes, and refining the design to ensure it met three key criteria: portability, durability, and ease of setup.
Our company's roots are deeply embedded in the Australian outdoor lifestyle, but we also recognized the global need for a hassle - free shade option. We wanted to make something that would not only serve the local market, where beach barbecues, backyard cricket games, and weekend markets are staples, but also resonate with outdoor lovers worldwide.
